Cancer mum (31) dead in a week.

THE family of a West Winch mother of two who died from cancer just a week after being diagnosed has paid tribute to her bravery.

Su Bocking (31), of Lynn Road, died at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday. She leaves behind her husband Jon (35), son Brandon (6) and daughter Bronwyn (3).

Mr Bocking said his wife had been suffering from a bad cough for a few weeks and was getting breathless.

Found a lump.

She then found a lump in her breast in early February and mentioned it to her doctor at an appointment a few days later.

A hospital appointment was made for her at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital to have the lump checked.

As her breathlessness worsened Mrs Bocking was taken to the hospital where it was discovered she had a swollen liver and cancer was suspected.

On Monday, February 25, a doctor visited Mr and Mrs Bocking (nee Golsby) at home and confirmed she had breast cancer which had spread to her liver and possibly her lungs.

Mrs Bocking was taken to hospital a week later and was nursed through by her sister-in-law Debbie Lewis before dying at 8:10am on Tuesday.

Mr Bocking said: “She went peacefully, with her family around her and was in no pain. The hospital said it was a very rare case. It was so quick and aggressive.”

He urged anyone who found a breast lumo to get it checked out at the doctors immeditately.

“I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Everyone believes in the old cliche ‘it wont happen to me’. I always though that. But it has happened.”

Mrs Bocking was born in Lynn and lived at **** *****, Kings Lynn, with her parents Barbara and Charlie, sister Linda and brother Robert.

She went to St.Edmund’s Primary School and Park High School and worked at A.E. Arthurs on the Hardwick Industrial Estate, then part time at Sainsburys.

After having her children Mrs Bocing worked for her husband at his car security and entertainment company Ferry Secure.

She enjoyed playing crib for the Lynn Workers’ Club B team, bingo at the Ritz and was a keen supporter of Liverpool FC with her husband.

She also enjoyed her annual family holidays to Yarmouth with all her family.

Mr Bocking said: “She was a family person who adored her kids. When we met it was love at first sight. Everyone who met her liked her and she was happy-go-lucky. When we were talking last week she said she had everything in life that she had wanted.”

Mrs Golsby (Barbara) said: “She was very brave and very focused. We are all proud of her.”

Mr Bocking thanked friends, family and colleagues for their support.

Mrs Bocking’s funeral will be held at Mintlyn crematorium at 10am on Monday, March 18.Everyone is welcome, family flowers only and donations for West Winch Primary School.
